The Cannes Film Festival has announced the lineup for its 76th edition which will be held from May 16 to 27, 2023. The list of feature films selected in Competition, Un Certain Regard, Out of Competition, Midnight Screenings, Cannes Premiere and Special Screenings is regularly updated on the official website.
The festival will feature Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” and the highly anticipated blockbuster, “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”.
Killers of the Flower Moon – Martin Scorsese

Killers of the Flower Moon is a 2023 film by Martin Scorsese, based on a book by David Grann. It tells the story of the Osage murders, a series of crimes against Native Americans in Oklahoma in the 1920s.
The film focuses on the relationship between Ernest and Mollie Burkhardt (Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone), a couple who are involved in the case. The New Boy – Cate Blanchett

The film is based on a story by Anderson and Roman Coppola, and was shot in black and white to evoke the era of classic sci-fi movies. The film also features a play-within-a-film structure, with a narrator (Bryan Cranston) introducing each act as a “fanciful telling” of the events.

Room 999

“Room 666” is a documentary film made by Wim Wenders in 1982.

The film is a fascinating snapshot of the opinions and visions of different filmmakers at a time when cinema seemed to be in crisis. Now, almost 40 years later, a new film called “Room 666: The Sequel” has been made by Lubna Playoust.
She followed the same format as Wenders and asked contemporary directors like James Gray, Baz Luhrmann, Claire Denis, and Ruben Ostlund to share their thoughts on cinema today. The film will premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Club Zero – Mia Wasikowska

Jessica Hausner’s fourth film to play at the festival is Club Zero. The film follows a teacher at an elite school who forms a bond with five students, which takes a shocking turn. The students begin to reduce their food consumption until things get out of hand. The film stars Mia Wasikowska and is directed by an Austrian writer-director.
May December – Todd Haynes & Julianne Moore

Julianne Moore and Todd Haynes present their twisted take on the Mary Kay Letourneau story in their fourth collaboration.
The movie stars Julianne Moore as Gracie, a woman whose relationship with her now-husband Joe inspired a national tabloid obsession 20 years earlier. As the two prepare to send their children off to college, a famous actress named Elizabeth temporarily moves in to study Gracie before she goes on to play her in a movie based on said tabloid drama. The couple begins to buckle under the pressure of the whole thing. Natalie Portman stars as Elizabeth.
